In the PPAP process, the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) must often be exported as part of the documentation package. Exporting allows the FMEA worksheets to be shared externally or archived.
Purpose
Exporting FMEA worksheets allows users to generate external Excel files for:
PPAP documentation packages
Internal review
Supplier or customer submission
Offline analysis and archiving
Prerequisites
Before exporting an FMEA worksheet, ensure the following requirements are met:
The FMEA has been saved. Export functionality is not available in edit mode.
All required fields are populated
Document Headers have been configured
How it Works
Follow these steps to configure document headers and export the FMEA worksheet.
1. Open the FMEA Worksheet
Navigate to the required FMEA worksheet and open the document you want to export.
2. Access the Export Menu
In the toolbar, click Export and select Configure Document Headers.
3. Configure Document Headers
The Document Headers configuration is available for the following form types:
Process Flow
PFMEA
Control Plan
DFMEA
Use this option to define or update the header information that will appear in the exported document.
Note: The Document Headers option will be disabled when the worksheet is in CORE View.
4. Verify and Save Header Configuration
Review the configured header fields and confirm that all required information is correct.
Click Save to apply the configuration.
5. Export the Worksheet
Click Export again from the toolbar and select Export & Download.
6. Confirm Export Preferences
A confirmation dialog will appear. Select the required export preferences and confirm the export.
7. Download and Verify the File
Once the export is complete:
Open the exported document.
Verify that all worksheet data and configured headers appear correctly.
