Importing existing FMEA data

Save time by importing your existing FMEA data. Option lists are then auto-built for future selections and edits.

Benefits

  • Automatic Application of Preferences: When you import data to an activated family or tag, the system automatically applies your selected settings, eliminating the need to manually assign tags or categories to each record.

  • Reduce Repetition: By associating records with families or tags, common data elements only need to be entered once, then reused across multiple FMEAs.

  • Faster Workflow: Activating a set of tags instantly filters the library to only show relevant records, helping you focus on the data you need without scrolling through unrelated entries.

  • Consistency Across Projects: Standardized tagging ensures that similar records across different products or processes follow the same structure and nomenclature, reducing errors.

  • Simplified Bulk Updates: When changes are made to reusable records, they automatically propagate to all worksheets where those records are used via alerts. Worksheet owners can then accept or reject the recommended updates at the worksheet level.

How it Works

  1. Open the Insert Menu: Click the Add button to access the Insert menu
  2. Select Import: Choose the Import option and click Next.
  3. Prepare Your Data: If needed, download a copy of the current active template and adjust your existing data to match the required format.
  4. Upload Your Spreadsheet: Click Upload and select the spreadsheet you want to import.
  5. Map Headers: The system will auto-map your spreadsheet headers. Adjust them as needed to match the corresponding fields in the system.

Tip
Streamlining data entry lets you work faster, maintain consistency, and avoid repetitive tasks, so you can focus on analyzing and mitigating risk rather than managing data manually.
